Bought our first house. Built in 1975. Currently downstairs in living dining room and hall way there is carpet. Looking to take this all out and put in a nice laminate flooring which we have got. The floor is suspended floor with joists.

I have not lifted carpet yet and I am unaware how much space there is below for access to install etc. I do believe there will be just about enough space to get in and under! Budget wise, I would like to do this myself and not spec out on the most expensive product. Looking for something reasonable that will do an adequate job and not make the floor ice cold in the morning!

Can anyone recommend what is the best method to go about putting insulation in under the floor? And estimated cost. The floor coverage is around 28 m2.

Thanks!
