I went out to a vaillant VC GB 182 EH today - the fault no heating or hot water.
When I get there the pump is running and the fan is running but its not a boiler that i'm familiar with ( pretty much the first one i've seen with exception to a combi version a few years ago ).
I tried to bridge the APS and still no joy.
I checked the electrodes and they seem fine and then I checked to see if there was 240v coming into the ignition transformer and there isn't.
At this point I was scratching my head so I phoned vaillant who informed me that it was a PCB fault and that there are 4 in the control box. The chap said the only way to identify which board is at fault is by carrying out a pin test ? I've got to phone them again tomorrow so that they can fax me the details.
Has anyone got any idea what he's talking about ?
Also any tips on what to test/try next would be much appreciated
Many thanks
