I have a valliant combi turbomax GB 242 E. This boiler is about 12yrs old I am haveing problems with the hot water, when I turn the hot water on the amber light tries to come on but skips and goes off therefore no hot water comes out only cold water. The C/H works fine no problem. Can any one help on thuis boiler please

I am guessing the amber light is the flame light?

If so then the immediate expectation is that there is a combustion related aspect which will not support operating at the DHW parameters,

These problems should be dealt with be a competent CORGI registered person.

However the problem might actually be that the diverter valve is failing and the microswitch is not remaining made after the initial operation. If so then that will mean the the diverter needs to be replaced or repaired.
