Hello! Research on the web has conflicting views.. so thought I'd ask your smart noggings again for your advice
Have a 20 year old sound, well made wardrobe, tho has quite a few scratches here and there. I've been looking at rustins coloured polyurethane varnish because I also would prefer to change the colour, as it's one of those orangey wood colours, one of my pet hates (each to their own!).
Can't afford a new one and want to tart this old one up. Is it possible to use oil-based varnish over it if I sand the heck out of it? I would use a stripper, but since the environmental goodie-two-shoes have had their say, I find any strippers as useful as tickling it with a feather - tired paint remover a year ago, a joke & waste of money!
Any advice, as always, be much appreciated.
