I have a vauxhall corsa L reg '94

It was running nicely until this evening when I decided it deserved an oil change. So I drained the oil, changed the oil filter and replaced the oil with semi synthetic oil.

I started the engine and now it seems to be running a tad lumpy.

I have a suspicion that I was not meant to use semi - synthetic oil, I know the oil type can alter the valve timings a tad

Any ideas?

I've got a sneaky suspicion that it's not the oil that's causing it to run lumpy. I'm quite sure the valve timing won't be out because of it either. Sure you've not knocked something when you were under there?

i wouldnt have thought it was the oil either but i suppose it could effect the hydrualic lifters in some way if it has them

did you screw the oil filler cap back on and put the dipstick back in?

if these aren't tightly in place you will lose crankcase pressure to the inlet manifold and it will run rough.
