After some advice about installing a new velux.

I want to install a velux in the dromer bedroom (coverted bungalow) but the purlin is in the way. There is a purlin already hidden lower down (marked in red) and then the visible purlin painted black. Any suggestions on what to.do, below the purlin would be to low and above is not a big enough space.

In blue is the structual timber for the dormer conversion.

Excuse the art work.

A velux PK25 is 94cm wide and 55cm deep that should fit above that purlin.

Ahh that's great thank you, must of overlooked this as 55 wide not height but should fit perfectly as the gap is 72cm.

Don't even think about cutting the black purlin - unless you want your roof to collapse!!
