Hi,

I have finally got around to buying a tumble dryer for the shed and have an installation question.

I suspect some form of venting kit would be best rather than just cutting a hole in the back of the wooden shed and poking the tubing through. Can anyone recommend a suitable one for a shed for an indesit tumble dryer? I am thinking the outside bit should be protuding a bit else the steam might rise and damage the shed roof felt etc over time so a bit of distance might be a good idea? That then is a problem for the kids tripping over it maybe when running around though, ummh..

My other question is, is that a drill attachement i can buy that would take out a circular bit of the shed smoothly or do i have to buy an expensive bit of kit?
Its probably a one off job.

Any advice would be really helpful.

Thanks

Matt

The steam from tumble dryers isn't generally hot enough for it to rise into rafters. The kit from Wickes has most items required, but you may find it more economical to build a kit of parts yourself:

Pipe connector - http://www.screwfix.com/p/manrose-round-connector-100mm/12697 from round pipe to flexi on tumbler
Round pipe - http://www.screwfix.com/p/round-pipe-350-x-100mm/15872 from flap vent to pipe connector
Flap vent - http://www.screwfix.com/p/manrose-square-brown-100mm-flap-vent/13161 for wall

That will cost you a bit less and leave you with fewer superfluous parts.

Thanks for the advice, that looks like a good cheaper option. Re steam drifting upwards outside, do you think it could damage the edge of the felt on top of the roof?
