hi again second man was checking pressures and the pressure was up and down and hes spoken to vokera technical , and they advise a new pcb , im reluctant as it got a new one approx 3 years ago , wene i had a gas contract !! , anybody local to greenock , you may can help ta andy

I am in Bearsden. What is your location.

Regularly work on Vokeras. While I will not say I know everything about Vokeras, I like to think I am at ease working with these boilers. Better email for charges if you need me to look at your boiler

I would agree with Tony on this. Heat is not transferring to hot water enough so boiler going to overheat, cools down then starts again.

update on hot water side the pressure is up and down and not maintaining large burner , it does not effect radiators , engineer once again advises a pcb as vokera says its the only thing possible for pressure fluxuating and burner not staying on high but it returns to low flame , wene pressure falls , im ready to get one but will ccept any more suggestions ? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

I have changed a few pcbs on excells for this fault.

You need to measure the temp of the pipe that has the sensor in it.

The gas should start to ruduce (modulate) when the temp reaches approx 75 deg.

I have had a few that have modulated with the primary water at approx 55 deg.

It could well be the plate heat exchanger but the temperatures need checking first.

thanks for reply i will try to find out temps , did you notice in my earlier posting , i mentioned that the thermister/ modulater have been renewed , doese that help ?? thanks

sorry for not getting temps , ive called 3 firms and all are were too busy , so i tackled it myself , removed chamber cover , cleaned it out with hoover/paint brush, and noticed drip from joint between pipe and water element above burner , fixed that with new washer , removed cover with fan and seperated fan and cleaned it and metel pipes between chamber/hoses, all went mooth and i rebuilt and filled back up to over 1lb water , its going fine and water certainly feels hotter , maybe in just hoping it is , is there any safety/essential thinhgs i should make sure of , just to make sure ive done job ok , will monitor it over the weekend and will get back to you . regards andy
