Hi. I'm in the process of replacing a number of door linings and in knocking off a bit of old plaster (old linings were all rebated at the edge for some reason) a bit of wall came off at the bottom. The wall itself is cheap grey breezeblock type with some kind of render (?) and then plaster on top. Nothing too major but will need dealing with, photos below:-

When I put the new lining in place there's generally a gap of 5-10mm around the edge of it, except this bit where I will possibly need to do something else. I'd like to be able to fill with something and then plaster over it, but what would people recommend? Maybe some kind of cement or render? I also have fire rated expanded foam if that's any good? I plan to put a fire door in this one as there was one there before (well, it was 45mm, heavy and self closing, but no intumescent strip etc so wouldn't pass as a fire door today). Incidentally is there any requirement for it to be a fire door? It's a single occupancy (no communal areas) ground floor purpose built flat. This door is to the kitchen, which has no other exits (except a large window which you could easily get out of).
