What is the latest|best flat roof repair

I have a felt covered flat roof and it has lasted a long while. What is the modern way of replacing it?. Is it still the trusted pot of boiling tar.? Just need to update myself for when it needs doing.

These days it's torch on felt, 3 layer system. EPDM is catching on now, a one piece rubber system, its all we do now.

I've got EPDM and its brilliant.

If I were to have a flat roof of mine done, I'd probably opt for a 3 layer felt system, with a torch on minerall capping sheet but the underlay rolled and poured with hot bitumen.

That, or asphalt.
