Whirlpool ADP 4504 dishwasher water not spraying in machine

My dishwasher is filling up and heating water but it is not spraying through arms and the cleaning cycle does not happen - it just sits there with the water in the bottom of the machine - help please.

I found your post asking for help after searching google with the same symptoms here

You didn't happen to find out what was causing it in the end did you?

...or is it a case of the inevitable trip to the locaal electrical store for a new one? Only had the machine just over 5 years ... maybe that is the lifespan these days.

Circulation pump or capicator gone

Ahh, ok thanks rocks1. I've had a look underneath the machine, and what appears to be the circulation pump makes a buzzing noise when the wash cycle should kick in, so that sounds about right. I've tried knocking it to see if it was just stuck, but it isn't playing.

Doesn't look too difficult to swap out though.

might have a piece of crockery or glass stuck on the impeller inside the motor housing.
worth a lookie before purchasing new bits
