wiring a two gang light switch

I am trying to wire a light switch with two switches to control two lights. I have replaced the lights and wish to replace a dimmer light switch with an ordinary switch.

When I put the new lights up one light was on constant and would not switch on or off. The other light turned on & off ok. This was with the existing dimmer switch. I then replaced the dimmer switch having the same end result one light constantly on the other ok.

To the switch I have two red wires and two black. One red wire is live.

Any suggestions? Thank you.

Are you saying that you had one dimmer that controlled 2 light fittings at the same time & now want to switch them individually?
