Hi All, I want to open up my fireplace int he front room but previously, someone has installed a sleeper as the lintel. Looking inside the chimney, the sleeper is exposed and is slightly charred. Do I need to change this out for a heat proof concrete one?
Also, does anyone have any good suggestions for getting the 3 courses of bricks on the constructional hearth out at all?! bloomin things are in there solid!!
