Hi all

First post and so would be really grateful for your thoughts.

Recently bought first house, complete with large workshop in back garden. It has a concrete floor with DPC. Due to a problem with the drains, a portion of the floor (0.75m x 1m) was dug up to allow access to the problem area of the drain. The hole was obviously filled back in with the soil and hardcore removed, but not re-concreted and the DPC has obviously been breached.

This was all before we moved in a covered up with a carpet!

What do I need to do to make the best of this situation?

Thanks

Chris

if im reading this right, they filled the hole in with the spoil?
but didnt reconcrete?

well if thats the case then dig out and make sure the hard core is compacted
you probably will need a depth of at least 6 inches for the concrete, refill up too dpc level, once dry black jack the concrete then blind with sand and then either screed or more concrete to the finished floor level, thats what i would do anyhow
