the hot water light is staying on even when the hot water is not runing and sounds like water is still passing when not being used can anyone give some ideas to what it might be

The engineers here will need to know which model of Worcester you have.

Are your radiators getting hot, even with the heating turned off?

the model of the boiler is 26cdi xtra all help is appreciated

Turn off the valve on the cold feed into the boiler and see if that stops the DHW demand light.

If it does then you have a hot water pipe leaking and creating a demand for hot water.

It's possible for the flow switch to stick. The symptoms of this would be that the dhw demand light would stay on, the boiler would continue to fire and the radiators would get hot.

I am not a gas engineer but did own this model of boiler.

He says he thinks he can hear water passing hence my response.
