Xp and legacy kit / progs

Amazed to find, after ages of collecting drivers for 5 yr old kit, none of them required for the Win xp clean upgrade !!
Even my old IBM colour scanner with the LPT port set for legacy stuff was fine .. IBM said no hint of a driver for xp ... I left the install cd whirring away, which it did, came back to find the installation complete !!
and the thing worked !! 1999 vintage !

SP2 ... 95 MB download followed by 50 updates !! .. Almost flawless ... got pizzed with inactivity so pulled the big lever ... SP2 install resumed as if nothing had happened !

Well done, Pip. What version of XP do you have? Are you a pro or a homo?

XP Home upgrade (Clean installed) from circa 2002... on old upgraded PC. .. Hence, I guess, the number of update downloads required.
Better download and CD W all the required updates from M$ catalogue I guess... ready for the next installation.
Ghost file manager has repaid it's cost ... grabbing office docs from a 98se backup.
