Zanussi IZ 141 S, not coming on

The door is locked with the washing inside and it does'nt start up as it normally does, and the 'err' code comes up followed by 3 dashes with a few bleeps, what could it be ?

I have looked in the book but it says it requires reset but even pressing reset gives the same code .
I hope someone can help!

I suspect one of the buttons is stuck (usually one you never or hardly use) as ERR means an error in user selection try spraying some furniture polish over the buttons and working them

I have looked at the buttons and they are fine,,, it's the door mechanism I think that is the problem , is there a way to open the door? as it is locked and wo'nt open but the red light in the door is illuminated.

door switch fault would read E40 in user mode

Well I took the door swich out today and it seems like it was getting stuck closed, I hope the new switch I get will sort it.
I would have liked to confirm it was the switch TBH.

Funny thing is after turning machine of the door released by itself after a while.

The switch is cream coloured but does it have a brown burn mark on the side if so replace

No Burn mark but it was slightly hottish when I felt it after taking it out.

Could the pcb have been damaged by this fault?

I have the same washer at my mums , might nick the switch from there for testing to confirm.

I ordered the switch from Ebay and paid for 1st class delivery but they are sending it 2nd class,
Is there anything I can do about it , I'm furious about that.
It's the principal, robbing ba4tereds
