Seems like it is the door interlock. Sometimes slamming the door may be enough to get it going again but it will need replaced.
It is easy to replace if you are competent at DIY.
SWITCH OFF machine. Remove plastic clip around door gasket. Peel back gasket adjacent to door lock. Remove two screws on front panel at door lock.Swing out lock mechanism and remove interlock assembly from wiring sockets. Replace with new interlock unit. They cost about £17 delivered.
