hi guys im currently in the process of doin my front room wgich will soon be plastered ! however i want to take the fire out as it looks old an dated. Its connected to my back boiler ! can i remove the fire an just have my back boiler ? totally do away with the fire an cap it off ?

in respect of wat will i do for a fire ? nothing as its never used ! only for the back boiler to heat my water an Rads 
The right and proper answer is ' no, you can't'. The fire is integral to the back boiler and can't be removed if the back boiler is staying in use.

that is because it IS old and dated. As is the boiler.
No, you can not remove the fire, at least not safely and legally.
Maybe it is an idea to upgrade the heating before you plaster/decorate and do all the other things to make the place look nice.

there were only 2 replacements for the 401 left the last time i checked
granted this was a few years ago
