once you've released the pressure there isn't going to be a lot of water or black cr4p in a bit of microbore running down a wall.
I beleive you are trying to wind everyone up  or you've lost the plot

Not a wind up, was just hoping someone had a clever trick that I am not aware off to empty the system without risk of a mess.
Guess not.

I don't see any reason why it should fall off, once you take the pressure off the system, you should be fine.

Roll the carpets back will give you some comfort perhaps.

if you can't/dont want to roll back carpets go too decorators merchant and purchase plastic carpet protector, quite pricey comes on a roll and works like cling film, 2 layers on carpet & up skirting, paper towel around slits for pipe if any. Place heavy duty dust sheet (cotton) similar to BG sheets, they dont let water straight through due to heavy weave, and use a wet & dry hoover. cover any areas you are likley to walk on with plastic & dust sheets also, just in case sh*t happens and you have to hot foot it with a dripping rad out the property.

You have not seen the way this flat is done.

That would involve a lot furniture moving, and also do little to safeguard the ceiling below.

Trust me on this one, if it was just a matter of mopping up a bit of water, I would not be posting about this.

This could well be an option, will have a look at merchant to see how bad the wallet will suffer.

Get a professional in would be my advice. Someone who has a clue about heating systems and how to drain etc, no shame in it ;)

Seems to me that the best way of doing it would be to get a drainoff somewhere in the system and flush each rad one at a time via this point and the filling loop to remove as much excessive gunk as possible (running some desludger through the system for a while as per norm prior to this). At least you're giving yourself a half chance of the water not being too bad then.
