hi - i'm new to this, but here goes.........
i've just fitted an external double socket to the outside of my garage by taking power from the back of an existing socket. the original socket had 2 cables already, and from what i've read, this makes it ok.
i drilled a (slghtly downhill) hole throught the wall, and took the cable to the back of the new socket (which is fitted with an rcd) i applied silicon to the surround of the cable as it came though the wall, another circle of the stuff around the hole to seal against the back of the box, and finally, sealed the edge of the box to the wall.
I should mention that the garage has it's own fusebox, separate from the house.
Now, what have i done wrong??????!!!!!!!!!!
