After a few hours of bumbling debate we are about to go to war yet again...

To fight an organisation that we helped create and allied to those who were recent enemies...

In return all of us are yet again put in harms way as the terrorist threat will no doubt go up again and more draconian laws will be enacted!

But hey, the military industrial complex gets to make even more money ;)

If your so bothered by it, why don't you catch a flight to Turkey, then cross the border into Syria and you can then help these cretins who'd plot to destroy our Western way of life. Don't let the beheadings of innocents abroad sway your decision to leave as quickly as possible.

Which clone are you?

Oh that's right...The one whose fellow countrymen didn't have the bottle to cut mummy's apron strings

What a bunch of pussies!

What a bunch of pussies!

And what's your solution to the situation then (apart from racially abusing people who disagree with you) ?
Racial abuse?

I suggest you check out jockscott's (aka pussyboy) post before bandying around that well worn (and inaccurate) accusation

As for my solution?

We keep out of a region we have stirred up for centuries and let them sort out their own solution instead of trying to impose our style of 'democracy'...

But of course that doesn't fit in with the military industrial complex, and apparently numpties like you enjoy swallowing the rhetoric you are told to listen to without thinking for yourself ;)

So basically you aren't capable of intelligent debate without abusing anybody who posts?
I stated my viewpoint, but pussyboy merely decided to wade in with abuse instead of an opinion...

And since you haven't made your position clear, it appears that you are another one who is actually incapable of intelligent debate

But you now have your chance to astound us with your wisdom

Kurdish pershmerga and Iraqi officials have asked for help.

Young girls are having their throats slit and bled into buckets whilst evil brutes hold them prostrate.
Little children are being decapitated.

It might be naïve to think these atrocities have never been a common occurrence in the past in this region but is this the new world order of islam where we just stand back and do nothing?

I don't think so.

What is this "military industrial complex"?
That's a new one and I'm just trying to work it out.

On the basis that your posts seem to consist of 95% abuse of other posters I'm pretty sure that I know who isn't capable of intelligent debate.

Your solution, it would seem, is to do nothing. Out of interest, when would you be spurred into action? Do you draw a line anywhere or is there a set of circumstances where you would feel obliged to intervene?

Your challenge is to post without emoticons or abuse - feel ready for a debate?

Elly is either the, "Stick your head in the sand and do nothing " persuasion, or some religious persuasion , not too far removed from the Middle East sort. That's why he keeps on bleating about any other countries involvement. He wants us to apologise for the past and blames everything that's wrong in the world on the Empire. ( I bet if his computer crashes with the BSOD, he'll blame Colonial Britain for it, instead of Microsoft)

As norcon, the factions in the middle east are barbaric to say the least; to call them 'terrorists' or 'jihadists' or Islamists is to glorify them. They are really just murderous thugs who revel in power over other people for its own sake.

However, isn't it time we stepped back before jumping in again? Experience shows that the modern middle east is a complete mess. We wouldn't know who we were fighting, and chances are that the factions we supported would ultimately turn on us.

You don't wade in to separate two fighting dogs, because they both then turn on you. This time, my vote would be to stay out.

With hindsight, Iraq was probably better off under Saddam Hussein - he at least kept the extremists down.

I think Elly is referring to "Area 51", or if referring to the UK then he surely means Porton Down (operated by QinetiQ ) ;) ;) ;)

That's where they keep the ufo's. Elly obviously arrived in one.

Sorry I have to ask - whose military industrial complex is getting more money?

The British armed forces have been slowly getting smaller and smaller over the years, and the industries supporting them have experienced a similar decline.
So if all this business in the middle east is just a huge con to put money in the pockets of the industries that sell arms, they seem to be going about it the wrong way.
