This contradicts the claim that the EU would be delighted to offer the UK preferential trading terms after a Brexit.
Does it? Just because they might want to continue trading with the U.K. after its withdrawal from the EU doesn't necessarily mean that they might not also want to try and make such withdrawal as difficult as possible.

PBC is suggesting that the EU would be unwilling to agree acceptable agreement arrangements for leaving.

This contradicts the claim that the EU would be delighted to offer the UK preferential trading terms after a Brexit.

Which is true?

They are both true..

Ah, you're using "the EU is run by evil alien goblins" again.

No, it's that the EU is run by politicians whose aim is that "ever closer union" and to grab more and more power for themselves over as wider portion of the population as possible. They will have a natural reluctance to let any member state go without a struggle.

A 'Brexit' would not be without problems. During the transitional period, the £ will undoubtedly fall, inflation may begin rising etc, but only due to the 'uncertainty factor'.

But in the medium- and certainly long term, we would be freed from the expensive and protectionist EU, and would be more exposed to world prices, which are lower than EU prices. That can only be good for UK plc.

I think there is a consensus that the UK is a more open and dynamic economy when compared with the EU. The remainers say that we would be better able to influence the EU to become more competitive if we are at the table. But we've been at the table for 40 years and we seem to have less and less influence.

The best way we can push the EU in the right direction is to leave. If that major jolt, along with the Euro - and migration problems, hastens the demise of the EU, then we would have done ourselves and Europe a big favour.

I was hoping that Himaginn would like to answer my question since John couldn't and seems to have gone into hiding again
My god, are you incapable of reading and understanding anything?

Say, how would we benefit from staying in the EU?
Unlike you, my interest is simply personal. I have no interest in getting the right deal for everyone else. (Like saving the Arabs from botulism  )
As my interest is personal, so are my views.

I'll leave those far more learned than me to present the arguments for or against for the rest of society. I have already stated this, weren't you reading/looking? (NO! I do not consider GD forum as representative of far more learned people, or even representative of society.)

I will continue to criticise arguments that are blatantly misleading or untrue.

How many more time are you going to ask, and how many more times am I obliged to tell you exactly the same as above!

And I have a feeling it's because that is their only reason for believing in the EU that they have to resort to witch-hunt tactics when anyone dares to criticize the EU in any way by claiming that anyone who is against the EU and its agenda must be an isolationist, xenophobic "Little Englander."
Obviously you equate witch-hunt with someone who demonstrates how ideological and inaccurate are your claims and allegations.

OK, here's a good reason why UK should stay in EU. ;)
"Leaving the EU could have a big impact on foreign players, as a Guardian study has found that around two thirds of Premiership players from the EU would not meet the criteria currently used for non-Europeans to get a work visa automatically.

"Losing this unhindered access to European talent would put British clubs at a disadvantage."

Is this another thread?
If you want to discuss the membership of the Euro, perhaps it ought to be.

I know that I have posted this elsewhere but it seems to be best to be posted here..

Oh no. We're back to posting Youtube videos.
What was it Obama said? "You don't have to say anything to fools. They'll prove their own foolishness." or words to that effect.

You mentioned that wikipedia is a database of hearsay.:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: So you reproduce Youtube videos. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
I don't know about "Pot, kettle, black", I think the "splinter in another's eye and a plank in yours" is more appropriate.:rolleyes:
