Labour controlled local education authority?

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

DUMBo - education falls under the Dept of Education. LA only have responsibility for allocation and provision of places. The Dept of Education sets curriculum unless its a Free School or Academy.

But you are about as thick, dimwitted as they come.

Duh! L E A's also employ the teachers & are responsible for the education of children in their schools, so therefore they do have a direct effect on childs education (or lack of it in a "nobody fails" scenario). Poor slow witted dullard twunt.

Chavtastic! Yep, I'm told those all day breakfasts are the best in Southern Europe. (y)
Benidorm Old Town is very good in terms of restaurants and gift shops etc. Very much like any commercial Spanish holiday town.
The middle ground between the Old Town and The Strip is populated by some quality eating places. There is a gaff called Casa Toni's and it is fine dining. Fresh produce is on display in glass fronted chillers where you can pick your own fillet steaks, whole fish, prawns, langoustines, mussels etc. Incredible starters to have are the tomato bread, Parma ham platter and the calamari with a squeeze of fresh lemon.

In Benners you can bite off what you wanna chew.

That's the best you got. Who sets the funding formula? The Government has a direct effect - the LEA cannot magically fund more places. So in fact the Government is taking more centralised control over schools with Academies.

You seem to hate this country so much.

Is that you in the shiny peaked cap?
Only ever visit The Strip at night time. CB gets completely rammed (inside) so we spend a lot of the wee hours in Sinatras. If the women tail you into Café Benidorm then you know you are in trouble.

The Strip is based upon drugs, sex, music and alcohol. Never seen a prevalence of LBGT there although the gangs of fancy dress (blokes and women) are commonplace.

Or failed schools as they are more commonly known. The Government had to step in & take control from the LEA as the schools were failing to educate/control children.

In some cases but many religious or faith based schools have become Academies. By the way the Academies are either run by the heads or part of MAT and are a great money making scheme - with some MAT sitting on tens of millions. Academies are on the whole backdoor privatisation.

Gove and Academies - what an utter c unt.

Benidorm Old Town

I didnt know Benidorm has an old town, just had a quick google......it looks lovely.

The nearest Ive been to Benidorm is going past on the motorway from Valencia to Alicante.

Wish I was there now, eating Tapas.......
