Water is getting on to the fascias of my house leaving water stains. This happens pretty much all the way around the house.
Initially i thought due to the gutters being full of crap and overflowing but the gutters are not blocked enough to overflow

Ive got a scaffold up for decorating and was able to have a more detailed look go try and see whats going on while its actually raining.

The gutters need a clean out but they dont look bad enough for them to overflow onto the fascia

It looks like the water is getting under the tiles and leaking down onto fascia.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Would like to get it sorted so that im not left with water marks on the new paint work

At a guess, looks like the roofing felt has perished, so water getting through the tiles is not making it into the gutter, you could try fitting Eaves Tray.

Chibs

I have just installed them front and back. Best to bang a few nails in! Easy to fit if your tiles are not nailed in...

I would be concerned as to why you have water running down the felt? Any broken tiles or missing ridge tiles?

No breakages that i can see and all ridge tiles are there.
Im going to get a cat ladder up to clean the moss while ive got the scaffolding up so I'll do a thorough inspection then.

Could it be that the interlocking channels of the tiles are blocked up with moss thus not allowing proper drainage?

Just push the trays up, the weight of the tiles will hold them...

How come the price of the eaves trays varies so much?

Im seeing prices between 1.20 per unit up to 5.00

Are the more pricey ones made from a more durable, flexible plastic or something?

Would rather pay a bit more if i know something is going to last

Bought mine from a local roofing place, think they were only a couple of quid, 1.5m long... they seem quite sturdy. I didn’t nail mine.

Looking at the end view picture I'd say the undercloak row of tiles is missing. Can see what looks to be an cement board undercloak but that ends in line with the fascia rather than the end of the tiles. You need to get the Eaves tray under the undercloak to ensure the rainwater goes into the gutters. I don't think the roof has 'Sprockets' at the end of the joists or trusses which can make your problem worse.

I bought my first lot from Toolstation for £25 ish for 5. Next lot I bought from local upvc place with loads of other stuff and it came to £25! They were pretty similar. End of the day it's just a sheet of plastic with a bend in it....

So i just did a bit more research on fitting the eaves trays before i go out and buy the supplies.
All the video clips online make it look easy enough but what happens at the ends of the roof where the tiles are bedded into mortar??
No one seems to mention that bit.
same goes for where one end might butt against another wall with lead flashing between the tiles/brick

Just insert and slide along where you can. You might not be able to cover every inch, but you will cover most of it.

Is this how roofers generally would do it?

Just seems like if Im going to do the job i might aswell make sure everything is 100% covered so theres no 'what ifs' and that small area that i could do comes back to bite me a month or year down the line

Any suggestions on how to do this at the ends of the room where the last tiles are bedded in too mortar and i wont be able to lift the cement board enough to get the eaves tray under.
