What if they form the opinion that the criteria aren't met?
Its been said many times - she finds 2 that think otherwise or she accepts that she doesn't meet the criteria.

Why do you repeat the same question over and over, is the densobot broken?

You asked variations of the same question 10 times.. Mostly each time was answered.

So what? I don't think anyone is interested in that.

That's a very strange comment on a thread about the legality of abortion.

Anyway, here it just one instance of someone being interested.

Once the HSA1 form is filled in and signed then the abortion is approved. It can not go ahead until then - i.e. it would be illegal.

Oh I see Denso thinks a certificate of opinion is statement of approval... ahh. Thats so easy to clear up.

Its a certificate of opinion formed in good faith.

It is not an approval to proceed or not proceed.

As after all, nobody needs the approval of a doctor to proceed with an abortion. If they did, it would surely say it in the abortion act.

"Form HSA1 must be completed, signed and dated by two registered medical practitioners before an abortion is performed under Section 1 (1) of the Abortion Act1967."

"The form must be completed by both practitioners certifying their opinion, formed in good faith, that at least one and the same ground for abortion in section 1(1) of the1967 Act exists.1 The certification takes place in the light of their clinical judgement of the circumstances of the pregnant woman’s individual case"

"Failure to meet the certification requirements or properly complete HSA1 may be a breach of the Abortion Regulations."

That's a very strange comment on a thread about the legality of abortion.
It's predominantly about the word "approval". Illegality or not, of failure to sign the HSA1 doesn't really help.

Assume for the point of arguing that the scenario did happen. Nobody can find the paperwork and nobody can remember completing it, but the two doctors definitely discussed it and agreed that the abortion met the criteria.

It later transpires they were called away to an emergency and forgot to sign the certificate of opinion.

was the abortion legal or illegal?

The agreed process for abortions in the UK is that if 2 doctors are of the opinion that the proposed termination complies legally and medically, then they sign to approve it going ahead.

If that process is circumnavigated, in a scenario such as you've outlined then it falls outside the debate we are having. Such as scenario is a result of an administrative failure.

The agreed process? So if its not followed a crime is committed?

And now the two doctors are required to approve both legally and medically. Even though the guidance explicitly states they are not approving that abortion is the best course of action.

But Notchy knows best.
