Code 1 seems a bit OTT, I would think either code 2 or code 4 depending on whether there were any SES or SBC lampholders present.

I think that what you meant to say was that even though you have had accurate, truthful and helpful advice on this site, because it doesn't fit with the decisions you've already made for selfish financial reasons which do not take into consideration the interests of your client, you have decided to ignore it and abuse the people who gave it.

and as for financial reasons did you not read any of the posts??

I read the one where you said that you were going to take a customer's money for doing the design of an electrical installation despite not being qualified or competent to do so, and despite not being able to certify your design, because you didn't want to pay extra for plasterers.

It may be, but there are legal implications, and if you are acting in a professional capacity you have a duty of care to your clients.

Try this for a while:

When visiting potential customers to try and win business, tell them that you don't think electricians are that important so you'll be doing the electrical work yourself, even though you aren't qualified, and that you'll be using a bent electrician to sign it all off at the end.

See whether you pick up more contracts, or fewer.

Defined Scope is just that - defined. You may find that your Defined Scope Scheme will not allow you to notify work that isn't within the defined nature of your work.

That doesn't mean that you are not capable of doing it, but that you are not permitted to do it within the terms of your membership.

Are you sure that Corgi Defined Scope will allow notification of any and all electrical work?

yeah really,thats what the guy said,,i said look i do kitchens,bathrooms,alterations etc and sometimes its a case of a kitchen re-wire,new cu or even a complete re-wire,is that covered or is it just simple add ons for boiler etc,he said you are covered because its not your primary job but an addition to it and you are covered for all work in order to finish your main job,,,,he of coarse might be wrong but thats what he said and i double checked from him,and he was there electrical expert,,,,what do you think? doing a part p coarse is good but it does not make someone a lecy does it

That's an interesting statement. Can't see how it could extend to a full house re-wire though if the main job is a shower, kitchen or boiler.

Might as well be a 'shower' man who throws in a free shower to justify a full re-wire. I guess the opposite is allowing an electrician to do a boiler change in order to finish his 'new FCU' job

Perhaps it's just a gaping hole being cleverly exploited. It's for the Schemes to police their membership so if the likes of Corgi are turning a blind eye to the 'rules' why shouldn't everyone else?

complete re-furbishment of 3 bed house,inc re-wire.
customer living there(very brave!! ) so need electrics on in various rooms as we go from room to room,and make easy and safe for plastering etc this is the idea i have and welcome your comments!
the consumer unit would look like this;;
bed 1,radial 20 amp mcb with 2.5
bed 2,same
bed 3,same
lounge,same
dining room,same
landing,loft,hall,boiler,house alarm,same
undertile heating(2kw) fire(2kw) and 4 spare sockets,2.5mm ring 32amp
garage,4mm armoured 20amp with second unit in garage with 6 and 16amp
kitchen,32 ring for sockets,and 20 amp radial for washer,dishwasher
6mm for cooker(no socket)
up lights,1.5mm 6amp
down lights,same
bathroom (x2)lights etc ,1.5 6amp (on rcd)
smoke alarm,1.5mm with 3core links 6amp
100amp main switch and 80amp rcd
service fuse 60amp!! looking to have service head replaced to 100amp
should the outside lights be on rcd?have own circuit? there will be about 4
think thats it! any thoughts would be great,,(now off to bury my claw hammer where that lecy cant wire any lights )
