As you said 'Both' are leaking are you missing a washer or something from each connection?

"Floor screed mix should be fairly dry" ?

Thanks all, its done now thank god. 16m2 of 70mm screed by myself has took nearly all day and I'm knackered  I tried an initial wetish mix (it didn't self float by any means but was easy to tamp down into the mesh and pipes) and very roughly floated the top. By the time I got to the...

"Floor screed mix should be fairly dry" ?

I've read a lot of sites and discussion all pointing to floor screeding being a fairly dry mix (4:1). Squeezed in the hand it should retain its shape etc. None of what I've read discusses what happens if you make it too wet? I'm putting a 70mm 4:1 sharp sand screed over water under floor...

    HELP ON A STORAGE IDEA...

Don't forget the floor when you've done. Even if it's a solid concrete one now you'll need to somehow damp proof it or anything you store will get rusty/damp.

Concrete floor question..used search and now more confused..

I'm intending to lay a concrete floor with water UFH, but I'm reading conflicting advice when it comes to the order?? To me the logical order would be ... 70mm screed with pipe work in and either mesh or fibre reinforce 100mm insulation foam 100mm Slab concrete DPM Binding 10mm...

Can a Radiator valve be used as cold water restrictor ?

Yeah, I know that's the right device but the supplied fitting for the filter has a huge thread on it , the same size as a radiator valve. If I use the above I still then have to get the up to the correct coupling size which then requires another piece. Unless the above comes in a...

Can a Radiator valve be used as cold water restrictor ?

New fridge freezer, needs plumbing in for the cold water drinks dispenser. The supplied fitting to connect the filter to the water supply has a size and thread equal to a radiator valve (the other end is to connect to 6mm plastic pipe) . Is there any reason I can't used this as my shut off...

    Immersion heater tripping probs!!

I'm with Flameport here, it sounds like your Thermostat is internally faulty. When it switches the supply off it shorts to earth (tank) somehow. Get a new one and replace just that bit, not the coil, I don't know if you've removed it before but its just dropped inside a tube. You don't have...

baxi solo 3 not lighting, what is sequence of operation?

I was trying not to be too technical here. I originally posted ~0Ω which is 'approximately' 0 taking into account lead resistance etc. What do you mean by OL ? Thanks very much for that , just what I was looking for.

    Immersion heater tripping probs!!

Just thinking about somethign else, is it definitely an MCB you've put it on and not an RCD? (An RCD will have a 'push to test' button) Your problem just doesn't seem to add up. If it can heat for two hours and then trip I wouldn't think there is any break down in insulation . By the sounds...

    Bugatti Veryon clutch needed

As with all cross manufacture these days you'll find your clutch is actually exactly the same as a vauxhall Corsa. Try any cheap motoractor and you'll get one. :D

baxi solo 3 not lighting, what is sequence of operation?

It has 3. Am I right in thinking it has two pipes to check the 'negative' and 'positive' pressure created by the airflow entering and exiting the system. ? My email address is [email protected]
