Hi Guys Does anyone know whether you can seperate the yellow heating wire from the blue mesh and just coil it up to loose it , so to speak? We have too much of the stuff and don't know how to use it. Thanks in advance.

    Dual fuel radiators/towel warmers

I'm not sure whether to get one of these instead of a normal central heated one. Please help if you have any experience or advice. Does anyone know if they are easy to install? and does anyone have any experience of using them, i.e. are they economical? Are they worth it?

    Deep pole holes.

Thanks for the reply Deluks I was going by the 1/3rd in the ground 2/3rds out rule that I read everywhere. We want the poles 2.5mtrs high so therefore I thought we would need to go 1.5mtrs down. (4-2.5=1.5) Yes they are like scaffold poles. 48mm diameter and 4mm thick galvanised steel...

    Deep pole holes.

Hi guys Can anyone suggest how to dig holes approximately 1.5mtrs deep? They are needed to support poles that will in turn hold a sail shade. Does anyone know if there are any hand held augers that might do the job or do I need specialist equipment etc? The poles are 4 meters long and 48mm...

    Watec2E

Has anybody ever heard of Watec2E? I was advised to get some and lay it before tiling the floor. Apparently it is a very good "movement mat" that helps to dampen out some of the movement in the plywood. Anybody used it? All I can find on the internet are German pages. Not sure about the...

    Fitting skirting boards

I am hopefully going to fit skirting boards this weekend, being a bank holiday. Question is how do I do it? How do I get the 45 degree angles? Do I have to buy a specific mitre board? If there are gaps in the angles do I just use some sort of filler to fill them? What is the best method of...

    Holes are too big.

I'd like to replace existing recessed downlights (reflector bulb type) with smaller ones (the GU10 type). The holes for the existing lights are too big to accomadate the smaller ones. My question is how do I fill the hole? I cannot gain access to them from the floor above (fitted furniture)...
