Im looking for the bypass screw for a riello 487t50 as a spare part but can seem to get a part number from tech support and the man in curzons is just looking at me funny! Do these come as a universal spare or are they specific to the burner??

if your on a budget, get a decent engineer to diagonise and fix/replace the faulty componant in your boiler and save for a decent replacement ( WB/Vailliant )

I prefer to get all the money at the end of the job, but if you dont want to be out of pocket i would ask them to cover the cost of materials ( obv plus your markup n them) then collect your labour charges at the end of the job.
Different installers have different opinions on this subject. In my mind the quality of installation is of more importance than buying the most expensive boiler.
You can't go wrong with WB or valliant if installed to a clean system.
you can order them from curzons/parts centre / t'internet. Sure it isnt the o ring seal thats leaking?
Id get the guy that serviced it back because these dont break on their own.
