I shall try explain what i mean. on normal taps body with gland on top of bath you have a nut underneath to pull it down so its a seal,
on these taps the tap gland etc is inderneath there is nothing can pull it to bath and on top the whole tap body is solid it doesnt turn indepentaly whole...

so you put silcone underneath? just seems odd there is a gap where tap valve comes through like should be some kinda gasket or something

While doing some jobs at a house i was asked to investegate a leak which turned out to be a valve leaking but the taps are not sealed at all the whole part of the tap body sits over the valve that comes through the bath just attached with a grub screw at the side

Thanks again , I been thinking about it I'm sure the joists run 90 degrees to bath so unless I stick waste though joists which I dont fancy it's going have go surface and boxed in

I drained refilled but was still a air lock so backfilled from drain off above bolier all fine now
hertsdrainage if nothing worthwhile say you might as well keep it stum or you wanting get you post count up
