Thanks Hamiltonandy I'm afraid I don't understand about the HT Transformer - have checked all fuses, but no response from ignition The ignition gave a repeated clicking sound when the water was initially spilled, as though it was trying to spark.

Wired into a wall box, and have changed the fuse on that.

Have tried another fuse on the power socket and this has got the oven working - which is good news! The ignition button for the gas oven hob still isn't working though???

My electric oven, which was working perfectly well, packed up when some water was spilled on the gas hob. Although the gas hob works, the oven will not come on. Does anyone have any ideas - I need it desperately!

Hello My electric oven stopped working after a large amount of water was spilled on the gas hob. The hob works, but the oven, grill, and overhead fan are now not working at all. I figured something must have tripped - but have checked the 13a fuse in the power socket, plus the 20a fuse...

The water is competely dried out. Won't touch anything until I've switched power off. It sounds to me that the water may have blown the 20a fuse in the main box - and replacing that might get the oven working again? Do you agree?

The power to my electrical oven seems to have 'tripped' after spilling some water. I have an old main fuse box, which has cartridges which contain fuses - two 3a, two 5a, and a 20a. Is there any way of knowing which fuse might need replacing?

I've checked the fuse for the power switch which is located on a wall near to the cooker. But as for the main fuse box, it is quite old and there is no way of telling which fuse might be the one for the cooker! Any ideas what I should do - I'm loathe to get someone out and pay a fortune...

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I should have said it's an electric oven, and gas hob. The hob can normally be lit with an igniter button or by match. The gas hob works, but the igniter button does not now. The oven itself is turned on by a control, but there is no reponse when I turn...

I have a gas hob and oven - the hob is working fine, but after spilling some water on the hob last night, there was a spark and the oven, fan and grill will not operate now. I've checked the cooker fuse, but still doesn't work - any ideas, please????
