Help please - kitchen waste pipe. Which extra fittings required?

Thanks guys. The current end of the chain is Polypipe WS26 43mm straight coupler (spotted the code on it). I already have a Wet Vac from when we had a hot tub and have cleaned out the bottom a few times (hence why I was concerned about a fixed solution with solvent that could potentially stop me...

Help please - kitchen waste pipe. Which extra fittings required?

Hi, We had an extension and the builder / plumber / patio installers have managed to leave out 40mm kitchen waste pipe too close to the wall and finishing above the drain. Therefore for the past 4 years I am confident that quite a lot of water / waste ends up missing the drain. Can anybody...

hot tub - Can I use existing outdoor power point?

Apologies - very ignorant with electrics. I have bought (but not yet received) a used hot tub. It will no doubt be 16-30amps. I am aware that this means an electrician will need to be called. The garden has one of the below from a previous owner. It says on the front that it should have a 30mA...

Sloping driveway - plans to put down bespoke shed & hot

Thanks for the reply. I am glad you agree with my own views about the custom shed. I did say that it would be ridiculously expensive. Any ideas on how best to overcome the slope issue for a concrete base please?

Sloping driveway - plans to put down bespoke shed & hot

Hi, I have done my best to research but am still not much wiser. Last year we rearranged the garden / drive. This involved a lot of work but the end result was that the driveway is shorter and the side of the garden much longer. We wish to use this new space to do 2 things: (I have...

Turf on hard clay - topsoil or rotovate and sharp sand?

Hi, Thanks for the info. I have included 2 pictures. We rotovated saturday morning as we were running out of time. We found the garden to not be as clay heavy as anticipated. (the heavy clay was mostly in the back corner). We obviously need to finish removing the big bits on the surface but...

Turf on hard clay - topsoil or rotovate and sharp sand?

Hi, In October we gave garden a total overhaul. Consequently a large slope at the back of the garden has been spread over the whole garden raising it by 40cm or so. Much of this appears to be heavy clay. During the heavy rain the last few months we saw that the water was sitting on the clay...

    Another sleeper retaining wall query

Thanks. A couple of questions if you dont mind. Will the fence posts not rot in time? How far down should I put the posts? Can I avoid going to the top of the sleeper with the attached fence posts? (so that they cannot be seen). Thanks again :)

    Another sleeper retaining wall query

Hi, We are about to build a retaining wall in our garden using 250 x 150mm x 2.6m sleepers. They are 4 long (10.4m) and stacked 2 high (500mm) but I dont know the easiest way to secure this to the ground. I am not an expert so would therefore prefer something that is simple, cheap and also...

Oven tripping RCD even though dials are all set to OFF ?

Hi, We have a Stoves 720EMA double oven & grill. A while ago the grill failed and trips the RCD if I try to use it. However, now the main oven appears to have failed too. The RCD tripped, and now I cannot even turn the oven on to see the display without tripping, (even though both the oven...

Ideal Classic NF30 - intermittent fault

The distance selling regulations suggest that I can return it though ? I appreciate that I cannot return earrings etc (hygiene), or unseal media..but there is nothing in the DSR concerning circuit boards etc.. However, I may have to keep it if the problem is the PCB... would be cheaper than a...

Ideal Classic NF30 - intermittent fault

Damn.. it has stopped working. I expect the fuse has gone again after being on for 30 mins... So does this mean that it could be the PCB, pump, fan etc...? Back to square 1 I think :(

Ideal Classic NF30 - intermittent fault

Turned out that the PCB was ok, but the fuse had blown :D Put another fuse in, and it worked fine. Put it back in the casing and turned on...and it was dead again Replaced with another fuse and left on whilst doing the casing up, and it now works fine. Hopefully it is not something else...

Ideal Classic NF30 - intermittent fault

Thanks :) I think the gf had number confusion. It may have been £150 total. (£50 labour). Can anybody advise how I can find the part number that I need (to try and source myself online). ebay sales suggest that 173799 will be for the 30 NF (surely the same as NF30), yet an online shop lists...
