    Pug 206 help!

cheers for the replies guys, but apparently, and this is from the mechanic via the missus so excuse the technical terms, it was an (or the?) injector - part cost £67 total cost £142 so it seems it was a fueling problem

    Pug 206 help!

the wife's 206 seems to have a bit of a problem, she was on her way to work when the engine warning light started flashing, she had no acceleration and it was very 'chuggy'. Just having a look to see if there was anything obvious, took the oil filler cap off and it is blowing air out - does this...

    River stones

me and the misses laid a strip of pebbles (loose, not mosaic type) in our tiled kitchen floor, I was using unibond fix&grout - did the tiles first then filled the groove for the pebbles with the mud, the wife did her pretty arranging of the stones, and then we stood back and panicked because it...

45deg external angle - how to plaster? *sorry for rpt post!*

all in the subject really, need to re-skim an external 45deg angle and would like a nice crisp finish - does anyone sell external 45degree (thin-coat) angle beads? or is there another way? cheers :D

    new for old

ahh, yes thought it might have something to do with the gravity setting, as I switched this to 'pumped' not being sure which setting I needed, will switch that and see what happens - not too fussed on the possible changes to enable CH on its' own, anything for an easy life.... cheers for...

    new for old

the 'SUPERSWITCH' heating controller on my boiler finally packed in (date stamped 1982!) so I have replaced it with a DANFOSS FP715. Connected to the old controller were the wires for +ve and -ve, CH on and HW on, with the remainder of wires connected behind in strip connectors. I transfered...

    bricking it

I am about to tile a shower cubicle, it is in an alcove, I am going to tile the back wall first, question is - should I mitre the edges where they will meet the other two walls, or just leave them square and butt the others up to them? They are 200x100 ceramic tiles (put in a 'brick' pattern)...

    rad valve tool

haha ok, I can see I was a little vague there  I figured this would be a standard size - as I see it there are the 2 parts to the valve, the part which attaches to either the flow or return pipework, and the part which threads into the radiator itself with PTFE tape wrapped around the...

    rad valve tool

    Glow worm f/saver MkII, help.

same boiler (glow-worm, although the 'space saver 38' model), same problem....until the plumber came to have a look of course then it stayed lit as if nothing was wrong  I did notice however when looking through the window that some of the flames kept 'missing' on the burner, so that...

    tap-off?

I'm pretty sure it is off the mains so I will fit the double-check valve (this stops water flowing back into the system right?), imagine the valve you have linked to but with a big white knob on it instead of the slot for a screwdriver, allowing you to operate it by hand, except it doesn't just...

    tap-off?

Yes, I can see the benefit of having it in respect of changing the unit, it's just that I'd rather have no pipe visible in the shower (have pipe going straight into back off electric shower). The isolater is in the form of a 15mm fitting with a big white knob on it which takes a couple of turns...

    tap-off?

I am in the process of installing a new shower cubicle where I have ripped out a poorly fitted mouldy effort, thing is the electric shower is reasonably good and I am going to re-use it, but it had an isloating valve fitted to the water inlet pipe(which can be turned by hand). I have never seen...

    downside up?

really guys, thanks for all the help and suggestions, nice to know people are good enough to take the time out to address other peoples ideas and probs - cheers! :D

    downside up?

A stroke of taking it all a bit too seriously?

    downside up?

the 'inside the rad' job might be a bit beyond my novice-like plumbing skills, although it was very nice of a well known screw and fix-ing type company to send me a free pipe bender (30-odd quids worth) to help me along - even If i did only order plastering supplies at the time....

    downside up?

ref - 'see thru rad' I assume you mean the type with thin columns which you can see between? Can't see much aesthetic value of a glass rad with a load of black gunk flowing round inside it!
