    hopefully i'm not getting paranoid but what happens to the flux inside the gas pipe?have heard stories that it may corrode it over time

    the guy came today and heated the pipe up and everything working fine,said it must have been flux.

    the guy did seem to use a lot of flux as i had to clean it off.He also used solder fittings which he must have added quite abit extra as the pipe is coated with a good inch below fitting

    Havent got rcds only rewireable fuses.i know the gas meter goes to the earth terminal and the ring and lightining circuit but nothing else.

    Ive noticed my boilers pipes are crossed bonded but when looking further the earth wire is cut and doesnt go anywhere.there is a fused switch to the boiler and was wondering if it was ok to to wire it to the earth in there as i cant get it back to the consumer unit without ripping the house apart

    Is there anyway you can test the auto air vent is working on a combi? i can hear air in the boiler as it fires up to heat the water but disappears after a few seconds.i'm sure the the vent isnt removing the air
