    Mains Syncronisation

Ah well now, In the bad ol' days, if you swopped the tails in the meter i.e. incoming in the right hand side and load into the lHS then the meter used to run backwards! Not that I've ever actually done this you understand. I don't know about contempory meters though.

    Mains Syncronisation

Thanks for the replies. If I've got this right, and once the generator is syncronised, the appliances in the installation will draw their required current from the generator first and THEN suppliment any additional load required from the Mains via the Meter? So, in theory, if the generator...

    ECS card grading

Yes, the CSCS (construction skills certification scheme) is administered by the JIB and, Yes, I believe one needs the NVQ3 to obtain an Electricians Card, other than that, it's an Adult Trainee Card. HoraceG

    Dorman Smith mcb's

Harry, As you are no doubt aware, these are very old and now obsolete. The LM range of Loadmaster Series 15 MCB's were rated as a Type 4 3kA (M3) which probably equates to a 'D' rated breaker. You would need to contact Dorman Smith and ask them the question. For your info: 10 Amp = LM10 40...

MEB Bonding to Incoming Gas Pipe

Thanks for the reply. All you say is true but doesn't address the main issue. In the event of a rise in voltage from the incoming Neutral/Earth in a TN-C-S installation, this voltage would be present OUTSIDE the building on the external pipe and present a Potential Difference with the...

MEB Bonding to Incoming Gas Pipe

In Line with Reg: 413-02-02 a Main Equipotential Bonding Conductor must be run to incoming services such as Water & Gas. 547-02-02 states this bond must be made within 600mm of Point of Entry to the building. In TN-C-S Installations it has been noted that, occasionally, the voltage will rise...
