Hi Guys,
Has anyone heard, or can confirm, the rumour that the IEE are planning on bringing in the 17th Edition Regs sometime next year?
Cheers

Where can you buy from?

Secure,

not totally sure. remember scanning a post on the IET forum a cuople of days ago on this exact topic.

think the jist of it was that draft copies were going to be available for purchase and comments with a view to ammending maybe.

ill let you know if i get any more info, ill have a look on the IET forum for the post.

just been on the IET forum and theres a post running on the second page about this so anyone wanting more info, that post seems to be the place to look.

Cheers! Just posted a new query about it, but no answers as yet!

no problem,

theres some info in the post on the second page of the forum. post is entitled ''17th edition bad news for you g/y maniacs''

hope its what your looking for.

Proposals include scrapping supplementary in favour of RCD protection, and allowing 1362 s/o's in Z3 or beyond providing they are RCD protected.

How about banning Ring Finals???

But don't tell John!!!

I telephoned the IEE on this, and they said they know of no plans to introduce a 17th Edition, they also added that any amendments they make to BS7671 must be passed by the Technical Board of the BSi, and that process can take up to 18 months.

They did hint that there may be amendments released but did not envisage a wholesale republication of a new edition..

Seems we still don't know!!
