    Triton Electric Shower only lukewarm

I've been knocking through into the extension today, with a fair bit of hammering and banging. The bathroom is very close to where I've knocked through. Gone to have a shower tonight to get cleaned off...a couple of minutes in, the temperature dropped right down to barely lukewarm. Its an...

Didn't realise the stuff was so unpopular. I'm just a DIY'er. So, should I glue or not ? Thanks

    Installing a T & G Chipboard Floor

Hello, I''ve had a quick search for tha answer on this but nothing came up. Installing the above...22mm to a first floor extension. Got plenty of chipboard screws 5 x 50mm.....do I also need to glue the joints? If so, is this to prevent future 'squeaking' ? Many thanks Lee

    Textured Shiplap Cladding

Hello all, I'm having a pro come to fit an EDPM roof over the front of the garage but I'm gonna fit the cladding myself. The cladding across the front of the garage needs replacing......it spans the garage and porch. The cladding needs to be 450mm deep. The span is five metres. I'm...

    EPDM Quote

I'm pretty sure they used waterbased for the flat and contact adhesive for the upstand. Luckily, I don't think it was a freezing night so hoping all is ok. There is a small 'bubble' around five inches long on the upstand, just below the trim, so I assume the adhesive was missed here...

    EPDM Quote

Hello, don't bite my head off.....I know no-one can give an accurate evaluation without seeing the job....just need to know if I'm being ripped off or not. Flat Roof......I've put all of the timbers, insulation boards (celotex with ply on top) in. Approx size is 2.3m x 6m....think its...

    Re-siting the flue

Thanks everyone for the replies. Nope, I don't have the funds for a new boiler. I don't want to sound like a sob story, but iI've already been a bit naive with the price of things to do with the build (the Steel cost me a grand !) , and a new boiler wasn't a factor when we did the costings...

    Re-siting the flue

Bad news all round then :( To be honest, the extension is being done on a small budget (brothers a brickie, mates a carpenter etc) but I appreciate your advice.....maybe have to consider moving the boiler / fitting a new one. Thanks very much

    Re-siting the flue

Hello, I have an old Potterton Puma 100 that is located in the loft and the flue goes straight out through the gable end wall. I am in the process of building an extension onto the side of the house so the old flue outlet will be covered by the new building. I cannot extend the horizontal...

Potterton Puma Wax Capsule - small water leak on DV join

Thanks for the reply....no I didn't use any silicone grease.....would I get that from a DIY warehouse or Halfrauds ??? I did clean inside the valve body as best as I could. The annoying thing is, apart from the leak, everything is working perfectly now so it WAS the wax capsule that was at...

Potterton Puma Wax Capsule - small water leak on DV join

Evening everybody, After some useful advice on this site, have finally managed to change the wax capsule on the Potty. Aboslutely gutted to find a slow drip leak on the union of the DV / wax capsule housing. The actual housing has a rubber seal and from what I can see just pushes onto...

Potterton Puma Wax Capsule - Help for a thicko

Cheers Scott......but theres my problem.....what did you use to remove the nut ? ....my socket set won't grip cuz theres not enough depth on the nut and the trusty adjustable is beginning to round the nut so I've stopped that quick sharpish.....did you use a normal spanner ? Maybe a trip is...

Potterton Puma Wax Capsule - Help for a thicko

Thankyou for your reply, very kind. However, I have actually purchased the wax capsule so think it would be prudent to fit whilst the system is drained etc......just not sure how to do it.

Potterton Puma Wax Capsule - Help for a thicko

I know this is the last things the experts will want on a Friday night but I'm stuck. Problem - Boiler firing for thirty seconds on CH and then cuts out. Thought I'd have a go at changing the wax capsule myself and now wish I hadn't ! Does the nut in front of the two DHW pipes undo? If...

Potterton Puma 100e parts discrepancy (PCB)

OK cheers. The boiler was purchased brand new and the PCB has never been changed so it seemed odd. Might be worth plumping for the brand new boards then. I know no-one can say for sure without seeing the boiler, but would you say its the PCB from the symptoms I described? Thanks all.

Potterton Puma 100e parts discrepancy (PCB)
