2 bulbs now require separate switches

hi
the only way now, without ripping the place up, is to install a twin+earth between the switches and joint it out to replicate your diagram.
you will end up with a connector/ferrule in the existing switch

Is this a solution?
As you can see by the diagram I have no back view of the switches as I'm not sure which sort of switches to get.
I've checked a couple of single switches in the house and they both had a 'common' at the top, plus an L1 and L2 at the bottom which were all used by separate wires plus an earth wire which weren't connected as the boxes were plastic.

cheers

hi
yes a ferrule is a crimp, but you need a tool. a simple connector tucked in will suffice.
you need 1 gang, 1 way switches for your job (2 terminal) - the two way switches you describe will work ( common L1 L2) but may cost more
