My house is a converted bungalow, one half of the loft space having been made habitable. A small door connected the two areas, but due to some other work I have plasterboarded that opening up and insulated behind it.
I have now cut a new access. Apart from U-values, is there anything I should be aware of when making the new door? e.g. prevention of fire spreading?
As I hardly ever need into the loft, can I just put a piece of plasterboard across and screw it down? The access is at the back of a walk in cupboard so it doesn't have to look pretty.
