Ariston EuroCombi A/27 MFFI will not restart after -

Hi i have the above Combi - fitted in 2001

The boiler works fine untill the CH reaches temp, the flame then goes out, fan and pump continue, but it will not re-ignite at all. - even if you open a tap for DHW.

if the CH hasnt reached temp and you open a tap - it heats the water normally, - close the tap - and the boiler then shuts off for a few seconds and then starts back up and continues to heat the CH... which is good

The strange one is if after its reached CH temp and the flame has gone out (pump and fan still running) and it wont restart - i then disconect the cables to the air pressure switch and short them - it will re-ignite. - but if i leave the short in and wait for the CH to get up to temp again...the flame will go out and wont ignite again unless i remove the short and reconnect it again. which suggests to me that the air pressure swich isnt faulty..

am i guessing its the control pcb..........

hope ive described this well...

any advise would be appreciated.

Are you aware of the anti-cycling timer?

Hi chrisR,

It will just continue running the fan untill the built in timer tells the CH to switch off. It will restart after this and then fall in to the same loop

The anti cycling timer was set to 60 secs - ive changed it to 0 (after it went wrong)
