guys... i thought i'd give an update
finally... after all this time... i gave it a go at trying to fix
the day before yesterday i got a mop and a sink plunger (i thought it might have some use)
i started with the mop
what a daft idea i thought!!
what is this actually going to do????
i stuck the plunger down as it seemed it might be of more use
no joy
then i noticed the another drain 2m away
i looked ta the and saw the plastic grill (i think that's what it's called)
aaah! now i get it - now i understand how the mop will work!!
but then i had a lighting strike idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
yeee ha!
why not just buy a pipe extension and put the pipe down the other drain
problem solved
i am sooo sooooo clever!!!!!!!!
well given that i had everything ready, i thought i'd try unlocking anyway
so i took water from the first drain and put it into the second
i poured hot water down the drain and shoved the mop down there
in total, we must have used 10+ jugs of hot water
got really dirt and stinky
no joy
but then, i noticed that the second drain water had now risen and had stayed there
****!
my next brainwave told me that the 2 drains where connected to the same under sewage piping
damn!
still not ready to give up... i plunged more and more with the mop
i was like a madman - not surprised the neighbours didn't call the police
then i noticed bits of string
where the **** did that come from???
then i realised that the mop string was coming off!!!!!!!!!
aaaah!!! that's the last thing i want! mop string stuck down there
i don't think much went down there
i've realised now that the water has been over flowing for a LOONG time
i really should have fixed a looong time ago!
odd thing with the mop: i plunged and plunged - water goes down
BUT, when i plull back up - MORE water fills the drain!!
i don't know what my next step should be?
should i still try to solve myself by investing in a drain kit?
or should i buy the pressure water attachement??
this costs about £60 + i'll have to borrow a pressure washer
(hoping that the attachment thing is universal!)
need help!!!
my garden will be filled with sewage water otherwise!
thanks!
