Hello I have just moved into a new flat. I was given the gas card to get credit on which I have done. Put the gas on and tried to put the boiler on and get a F1 - ignition error. I have also got 2.8 bar flashing on the LED screen. Does this mean the water pressure is to high. Any advice would be really appreciated, thanks

Turn boiler off and on at the front panel. That should clear the F1 code now you have gas.

The pressure is too high, ideally should be between 1 - 1.5 bar. You can lower the pressure by draining off some water either from a drain off or through a radiator bleed screw.

Yes..off/on to reset boiler.

2.8 Bar could be

1) filling loop left open..not that uncommon.Turn blue knob underneath clockwise as you look up at it to turn it off. Check the Pressure Relief Valve is not leaking, occasionally lazy people leave the filling loop open just to compensate for a dripping PRV

2) pressure vessel lost pressure or diaphragm failed (it should have about 0.7 bar in it when system full and cold

3) Could just be overpressured. There is a boiler drain cock under the boiler, but you need a plastic tube to push over it and drain inot a bucket...or drain from rad drain cock as suggested. Leave it at about 1.2 bar cold.

Hi
I'm shifted to new place on sunday and have glow warm boiler.
I set the water temp to 40 and central heating temp to 45.
Yesterday I started thermostat to make my room warmer.
But suddenly in the morning at around 3.45 boiler stopped and started to show me .4 Bar.
so I opened both the tabs as the controls didn't operate.
but after closing the tabls it started showing F 1 message on display.
I'm not sure if this related to gas as I have not checked the gas.
