Boiler Ignition cable Testing

What would be a good (average) resistance reading to obtain when checking a HT ignition cable.
Could some one explain how this cable provides flame sensor feedback to the control box to extinguish the spark.
I would mention the make of boiler but ChrisR might just order me a skip.

1 Ohm or less I should think. Normally the problems with the electrode rather than the cable though.

Simple test ,hold the cable as its sparking. If you start dancing there is a break in it :LOL:
