brake on the ldv pilot van

hi i got in my ldv pilot van and the brake pedal feels hard and it takes a bit of time to stop .what the common fauts with ldv pilot van .could this be the servo that pack up

It does sound like typical servo problems, but the brakes will work - you just have to press the pedal like hell to stop.
A simple servo test - engine off, press the brake pedal quickly a few times. It should rise to the top and feel solid. Keep the brake pressure on and start the engine. The pedal should drop a bit.
Diesel engines need a vacuum pump to work the brake servo, so check the air pipe leading to the servo unit for disconnection or splits before delving further.
