Hi... i am installing a new security light with the cable running along the top of the outside wall to the into the fused connection unit inside.

I have been advised to use Hituf cable(3 core) and thought that the size to use was 1.0mm, however i can't find any....only 1.5mm.

Anyone have any advice..

Thanx

You can use thicker cable than the 1mm minimum without any problems. Many electricians use 1.5mm for all lighting work but 1mm would still meet the regs in most domestic lighting circuits.

Thanx four help

Would Armoured cable be better to use than hituf?

you'll probablly have trouble terminating armoured direct to your light and extra connections outside are generally a bad thing.

HI-TUF should be fine as long as its high enough up to be out of the way of accidental damage.
