I've had a carpet fitted, and when they laid it they left a crease in the carpet. This we think was caused by the weight of the carpet being folded over. The carpet was flat and stretched when laid.
It has been restretched twice now and steamed. The crease is still visible.
The carpet is also becoming patchy where the pile has come out.
Will the crease come out and is the patchiness due to overstretching?

Many Thanks

After a re-stretch, the crease wont necessary come out straight away, it can take up to 2 weeks. If it has been longer than 2 weeks then phone the shop, after 2 restretches, and a 2 week wait, you shouldnt have a crease still. The patchiness is hard to say without looking at it, but you shouldnt lose tufts because it has been stretched. Phone the shop, and get the manager to come out and have a look

It has been 2 weeks since the last restretch & we can still see it.
Had the manager of the shop out on the last restretch & steam, & he said he was referring it to the manufacturer.
I've been told some creases never come out.
In the past one shop even refused to fit a carpet for us as it had been badly creased on the roll & it affects the backing & and it wears out too quickly.
Thanks for your help
