Hi
Recently my central heating boiler has started not working properly:
Central heating / hot water clock comes on, thermostat says below temperature, I can hear most of the usual noises from the boiler area - I can hear the pump pumping. But no gas burning, just the pilot light.

To 'get round this' I bang the ?gas value underneath the boiler (Myson Appollo 50/65), the pilot light goes out. I re-light the pilot light, when I release the big green button (slowly) the boiler lights, the house gets warm. The thermostat cuts the heating off. When the house gets colder themostat trys to turn heating on again. Most of the normal noises come from the boiler, but not burning gas. I repeat the re-lighting game.

Any ideas what is wrong? Can I do somethign simple to get round this over Christmas?

Thanks
