Hi and Happy New Year!!

I have worken up to the New Year with my central heating not working.

I have a conventional system (not combi).

I have a pilot light, i have set the termostat to high, i appear to have power as the timer is still moving ok and i have put the setting to constant but NOTHING.

The system doesn't seem to fire up for water or heating....... HELP!!

If, as I suspect, you have a white boiler, there may be a fault with it, or the system.

That's brilliant detective work TW don't know how you doit. ;)

I would need much more information about the boiler and system.

Ok guys - i have an update.

I manually moved the diverter valve and the system has now jumped into life!!! - Good News!!

Bad News - i still get a banging news from the bolier (and yes TW it is white!!) its been there for a a few months now.....

Is this a simple case of a jammed diverter valve ... or is the banging noise related or the root cause?!?!?

sorry to work your grey cells early on New Years Day :)

Banging would usually be due to poor circulaion, pos pump, lack of water, blockage etc
