Central heating problem

The DVs often used to stick down.

The head of most come off by pressing down and rotating 90° anticlock. Some have a small locking lever to be pushed before they rotate.

That leaves a central pin. This should move down when pushed down with a bit of wood and spring back up sharply.

The movement is only about 9 mm. If sticky they can often be freed up by depressing about 20 times.

With the head off they rest ( I think ) in the DHW position.

Its a waste of time just talking about boilers much more fun to fiddle with the insides! ( But ONLY if you can do that safely! )
